Journal of the American Medical Directors Association published 9 times per year, is the peer-reviewed publication of the Association, providing coverage of the issues most important to medical and nursing professionals in long term care. This publication focuses on disease processes, medications, and syndromes as well as assessment and intervention methods that have the potential to improve patients' quality of care or quality of life. Features include original, peer-reviewed articles; review articles; case reports and book reviews. JAMDA is accepted in Index Medicus. Current ad past editors are world class investigators. Health Policy Advisor highlights AMDA's policy activities and contains news and information about a variety of legislative, regulatory, and reimbursement issues as they relate to long term care. Specific topics covered include updates on key health legislation, CMS regulatory initiatives, Medicare program notices for billing and coding program changes, legislative action in the states, and movement on other physician areas of interest, such as assisted living and medical liability.
State Network News is an interactive forum for state chapter leaders. Each month, one informational article of interest is placed on the site and a second article focuses on what a state chapter is doing in this area of interest. Questions that relate to the two articles are posted to encourage a dialogue exchange between the viewers. In addition, there are tips, deadlines, tools and information needed for specific activities, such as the House of Delegates on the site, www.amdasnn.com.
Weekly Round-Up is a weekly news monitoring service that reports on trends, advocacy, clinical updates, and other issues impacting long term care professionals. AMDA's staff reviews news, business, and trade publications and Web sites, and provides members with relevant stories of the week via e-mail. Viewpoints in some stories included may not be that of AMDA.
