AMDA Committees
The American Medical Directors Association's bylaws establish standing committees and allow ad hoc committees as well. Committee chairs and members are appointed by the President and serve a term of two years. Overviews of these committees' missions and scope are provided below.
Members interested in volunteering on a committee are encouraged to complete the online Committee Volunteer Opportunities form.
Code of Conduct Policy
There is an official Code of Conduct of AMDA. This document applies to the Board of Directors, committee chairpersons, members of committees and work groups, and the editors of Caring for the Ages and the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association and other AMDA publications (“AMDA Leaders”).
Leaders further AMDA’s interests by providing professional perspectives on policy development, clinical products and tools, education, AMDA issues, and activities that involve different constituencies. The actions of these individuals must be above reproach; and it is expected that all AMDA leaders know and adhere to the Code of Conduct of AMDA, as well as AMDA's Code of Ethics and Governance Conflict of Interest Policy .
The Code of Conduct of AMDA serves as a guide for AMDA leaders when they are performing official AMDA duties, representing the organization in any venue, working with others in the organization, and making professional references to AMDA in the course of daily business. Such activities must conform to certain legal and ethical principles and require AMDA leaders to act honestly, in good faith, and in the best interests of the association.
