Michigan Chapter Contributes $1,000 to the AMDA Foundation
The AMDA Foundation recently received a
$1,000 contribution from the Michigan
Medical Directors Association. When asked to comment on the
contribution, state chapter past-president, Fred Isaacs, MD, CMD, said,
"The Michigan chapter is impressed with the accomplishments of the AMDA
Foundation over a short period of time. The implementation of the long
term care research network is an exciting development that will have
significant impact on physician practice in the long term care setting.
The fact that the network is open to all AMDA members, regardless of
research experience, is consistent with the AMDA philosophy of supporting
community-based medical directors. The Foundation's focus on identifying
and recruiting new medical directors through the
AMDA Futures Program also
helps ensure the continued vitality of our profession and our organization.
The Michigan chapter is pleased to be able to support the AMDA Foundation
and I hope that other chapters will follow our lead."
The AMDA Foundation is supported in large part by contributions from
AMDA members. The Foundation will be launching its Annual Campaign in
November to help support outcomes research on implementation of the
Pain Management and
Falls Clinical Practice Guidelines. For
information on how to contribute, please contact Sandy Jaso, AMDA Foundation
Assistant, at 410/992-3134 or e-mail to
