AMDA.COM Update
Online CME
AMDA has contracted with NetCertification, Inc., a Dallas, Texas-based
company with more than 15 years of experience in the development of
education and testing programs for associations. NetCertification will
be videotaping several sessions at AMDA's Fall 2000 Management
Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico. These sessions will be used to
create Internet and CD-ROM based CME programs that include "streaming"
video and audio, synchronized slide shows, scrolling transcription, a
scratchpad for taking notes, and a resource center to download syllabus
materials, handouts, and additional information.
These programs represent AMDA's first foray into online continuing
education and will be available in early 2001. AMDA will provide
AMA-PRA Category 1 CME credit for these programs; AMDA CMD credit hours
will be provided by the American Medical Directors Certification
Program (AMDCP).
Two New Web Site Features
AMDA's website boasts two new features to help you find what you're
looking for: a web site search engine and a dynamic site map.
The new web site search engine, which appears at the bottom of
almost every page, allows you to conduct text searches for web pages on
amda.com that may provide the answers you seek. Simply type in a
keyword, click the "Search" button, and the search engine will display
every amda.com web page that contains your keyword. Tips on using the
web site search feature can be found by selecting the "Search Tips"
link located next to the "Search" button.

New Web Tools Coming Soon
AMDA has entered the design phase for a suite of web-based software tools that will be installed and integrated in early 2001.
Following are just a few features that you will soon be able to access online:
- Search for other AMDA members.
- Join or renew membership.
- Register for meetings.
- Update your address.
- E-Commerce: buy products, pay dues or conference registration fees.

A new site map has been added that displays a hierarchically
organized list of all of the web pages on amda.com. You can access the
site map by selecting the "Site Map" link at the very top and bottom of
almost every web page. The site map is dynamically generated, which
means that new content is automatically listed as soon as it is added
to the site.
We are committed to continually improving amda.com to provide you
with useful tools and timely information online. If you have any
questions or suggestions, please contact Patrick Drews at 410/740-9743,
ext. 114 or send e-mail to patdrews@amda.com.
