AMDA.COM Update
Internet Alley a Hit
Internet Alley, in its second year at AMDA's 25th Anniversary
Symposium, proved itself again to be a popular attraction. Hundreds of
attendees lined up to use web-enabled computers to surf the web, check
their e-mail, and activate their online subscriptions to the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association (JAMDA).
A representative from Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, JAMDA's
publisher, was on hand to assist members interested in activating their
online subscriptions.
Activate Your Online JAMDA Subscription
The Journal of the American Medical Directors Association's (JAMDA) web site--www.jamda.com--now
offers access to full-text articles to AMDA members and JAMDA
subscribers only. In order to obtain access to these articles online,
AMDA members must first activate their online subscriptions. Activation
instructions are available online at www.jamda.com.
To activate your online JAMDA subscription, you will need your AMDA
Member ID number, which is printed on your AMDA membership card. If you
need to replace your membership card, please contact the Membership
Department at 410/992-3132, or send e-mail to membership@amda.com.
| Colorado Chapter Has a New Web Site |

The Colorado Medical Directors Association has developed its own web site: http://cmda.gen.co.us/.
There are now seven state chapters with their own web
sites; the others are California, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri,
Ohio, and Wisconsin.
All chapters are accessible from the AMDA web site at this link.

New Web Tools Coming Soon
We are currently testing a suite of web-based software tools that
will dramatically increase the capabilities of the AMDA web site.
Following are just some of what you will soon be able to do online:
- Manage your mailing address and contact information.
- Search for other AMDA members.
- Become a new member or renew your membership.
- Register for upcoming meetings and conferences.
- E-Commerce: buy products, pay dues or conference registration fees.
Once testing is completed later this spring, we will make these tools available online.
If you have any questions or comments about AMDA's web site, please
contact Patrick Drews, Web Coordinator, by phone at 410/992-3114, by
fax to 410/740-4572, or via e-mail to patdrews@amda.com.
The Future of the Chapter Listserve
Chapter leaders interested in getting quick feedback and discussion
from colleagues across the country on issues of concern should consider
subscribing to the Chapter Listserv. This list was set up more than one
year ago to provide chapter leaders with a virtual forum for discussing
topical issues that affect their practice as a medical director or an
attending physician.
Since its inception, however, only 24 chapter leaders have
maintained their subscription and not used it as we had hoped.
Therefore, AMDA will soon send a survey to all chapter presidents
asking them once again if they are interested in subscribing to the
list and, if not, why. To help us determine the significance of this
listserv, please look for the survey in the mail and respond to it
promptly. If you have any questions, please contact Meg LaPorte,
Government & Public Affairs Specialist, at 410/992-3120 or send
e-mail to meglaporte@amda.com.
