Core Curriculum Module B
On March 21, 23, and 24, AMDA offered Module B of the Core
Curriculum on Medical Direction in conjunction with its 25th
Anniversary Symposium. One hundred sixty registrants attended the
module.
Speakers were praised for a learning format that included
multidisciplinary role playing to deliver content. Participant comments
included, "Excellent multidisciplinary team sketch," and "role play was
great, well thought out and well mediated." The Quality Management
session drew positive comments for small group discussions that
reinforced learning concepts. One participant summed up the learning
experience: "I feel I have received high quality and cutting edge
educational tools and information in order to provide the best care in
my community."
Other topics included Employee Health and Safety, Medical
Information Management, Risk Management, and Medical Care Delivery
Systems, providing 12 hours of CME/AMDA CMD credit. Faculty included
Karyn Prochoda, MD, CMD, as Module Director, David Brechtelsbauer, MD,
CMD, Leonard Gelman, MD, CMD, and Alva "Buzz" Baker, MD, CMD.
Module B will be offered again in Annapolis, Maryland, on May 18-19,
