2nd Annual LTC Research Conference
"Patient Safety Issues in Long Term Care" will be the focus of the 2nd Annual Conference of the AMDA Foundation Long Term Care Research Network,
a national practice-based research network of long term care
professionals launched in 2001. The conference will be held November
2-3, 2002 at the Hotel Adolphus in Dallas, Texas.
Members of the Research Network will receive a letter of invitation
in August 2002. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come basis
with consideration given to participation in Network activities. The
two-day conference has several goals:
- Discuss findings of research studies initiated in 2001 and their implications for improving quality and safety in LTC.
- Identify and discuss new research priorities for the
Network with an emphasis on using performance measures (quality
indicators) and large data sets (MDS) to compare Network results
against national norms.
- Identify new principal investigators.
- Provide training about the role of the site
investigator in educating IRB's and their facilities about research
issues in LTC, including human subject protection and privacy.
