E-mail Us Your Articles
What better way to disseminate information to chapters than to include an article in State Network News (SNN)? SNN is a quarterly publication intended to keep chapters informed of national and state activities.
If you would like to
include an article in an upcoming issue, please e-mail it along with
permission to reprint to Susan Gutierrez, Membership Coordinator, at sgutierrez@amda.

New Assisted Living Recommendations to be Drafted by End of Year
Extensive recommendations and guidelines for improving quality care in assisted living facilities are slated to be completed by the end of this year, according to the Assisted Living Workgroup (ALW). While AMDA's involvement in the ALW has made a difference in the outcome of many of these recommendations thus far, we still need your input about your experiences and care issues in assisted living facilities.
A number of AMDA members have submitted stories that demonstrate the need for medical oversight in assisted living facilities, such as the lack of medical records in the facility, poorly qualified staff, residents too sick for the facility, and poor medication management. Please e-mail your stories/comments to Meg LaPorte, Government and Public Affairs Specialist, at meglaporte@amda.com.
