AMDA's 25th Anniversary Symposium

The beautiful San Diego harbor is the backdrop for the AMDA 25th Anniversary Symposium. Our theme for the meeting is Dedicated Caregivers...Silver Linings in Long Term Care. The program will focus on a variety of issues, including clinical aspects of best practices, administrative systems to ensure excellent patient care, ethics and end-of-life decisions; all key areas of change affecting the long term care continuum.

Our general sessions are taking shape. Saturday's general session will follow tradition and focus on policy and legislation affecting long term care. On Sunday, Oscar–nominated filmmaker, Deborah Hoffman will share her journey and experience as a daughter caring for her mother with Alzheimer's disease. The films Hoffman viewed to help caregivers were "bleak and depressing." She set out to change that in her film "Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter". Ms. Hoffman will share excerpts from her film and her perspective as a caregiver.
