Highlights on CME Program Planning
At the recent symposium in Atlanta, the Education Committee met to review, among other issues, the latest information from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). AMDA is an accredited provider of CME that is accountable to the ACCME, which permits AMDA to provide AMA PRA category 1 credits for educational activities.
The Committee asked staff to forward information from the ACCME to all AMDA state chapters addressing 24 of the most commonly misinterpreted ACCME guidelines and requirements. Whether or not your chapter already works with AMDA in a joint sponsorship arrangement, this document may serve to clarify some of the activities that should occur to maintain proper planning and follow-up activities to your chapter programs.
