- Is there an application for Joint Sponsorship?
Yes. Organizations interested in joint sponsorship with AMDA should contact the Education Department at education@amda.com or at 410-740-9743 to request application materials and to discuss the process for applying for joint sponsorship.
- When should our organization contact AMDA Education if we are interested in planning a CME event we want to be jointly sponsored by AMDA?
AMDA Education should be contacted at the beginning of the CME planning process so that an Education Committee liaison from AMDA can be part of the planning process.
- When are applications for joint sponsorship due?
Applications and documentation in support of those applications are due 60-120 days out from the start date of the meeting.

- What is AMDA e-University?
AMDA e-University is your source for online education activities specific to long term care settings. CME activities are provided in a number of formats including: live and recorded webinars, mp3 audio recordings, monographs and clinical practice guideline tests.
- Where can I learn about current education activities available from AMDA?
To view current education offerings visit us online at www.amda.com/e-u.
- If I register for a live webinar but I cannot make the live presentation, is there still a way for me to access that content?
Absolutely! All AMDA webinars are available 3-5 business days after the live presentation via archived recordings.
- If I did not register for a live webinar, can I still gain access to the content at a later date?
Yes; you can order recordings of webinars which contain the synchronized audio and slides of the live presentations from our website at www.amda.com/e-u 3-5 days following the live presentation.
- How do I access the AMDA Online Library?
AMDA’s online library can be accessed via the following website: http://www.prolibraries.com/amda/.
- Who can help me if I am having trouble ordering, logging into or accessing the AMDA online Library?

- How do I find out how to claim credits for my participation in AMDA e-University online education activities?
Detailed instructions for claiming CME credit will be provided with individual CME activities or you may contact the AMDA Education Department at education@amda.com or at 410-740-9743.
- Where can I locate CME activities to help me meet my Certified Medical Director (CMD) education eligibility?
AMDA’s e-University at www.amda.com/e-u has live and self-study activities on clinical and management areas to help you meet your education eligibility requirements.
- Do I use my AMDA user name and password to access live webinars and archived webinar recordings?
You must set up a separate account to access live webinars and archived webinar recordings. When you setup your account you will choose a unique user name and password. You do not login using your AMDA information.
AMDA Live CME Meetings
- What is the course that is required from the AMDA Certification Program (AMDCP)to become a Certified Medical Director (CMD)?
The Core Curriculum on Medical Direction in Long Term Care” (the Core Curriculum) is a required component for AMDCP CMD certification.
- Can I take the Core Curriculum online?
Currently the Core Curriculum is only available as a live presentation and cannot be taken online.
- How long is the Core Curriculum?
The Core Curriculum is a 7-day long program (View Agenda).
- How often is the Core Curriculum offered?
The Core Curriculum on Medical Direction in Long Term Care is offered twice annually - once in the summer and once in the fall. Click here to learn details on upcoming courses.
- How many activities am I required to complete in order to receive 20 additional credits for the post Core Performance Improvement Activity?
You must complete the Pre-Course Survey; Individualized Action Plan form; and Post-Course Survey
- When is the Pre-Course Survey sent out?
One month before the Core Curriculum
- When do I fill out my IAP?
During the Core Curriculum you will be asked to fill out the IAP and return it to an AMDA staff member onsite.
- When is the Post-Course Survey sent out?
Six months after the Core Curriculum
- How will I know when I have received 20 additional credits?
An emailed certificate will be sent to each individual who completes all three activities (Pre-Course, IAP, Post-Course). Certificates will be sent about four months after the Post-Course Survey is disseminated
- I’ve already completed AMDA’s Core Curriculum; does AMDA have advanced education offerings for seasoned medical directors and CMDs?
Yes, AMDA’s Advanced Curriculum on Medical Direction is geared to the needs of physicians who provide management and clinical care services in the long term care environment. This course covers new content each year with a program developed specifically for seasoned medical directors and CMDs.
